MEMORIAL FOR UW-MADISON STUDENT WHO DIED FROM BACTERIAL MENINGITIS
MADISON (WKOW) -- The UW community held a memorial tonight for Neha Suri, the student who died from bacterial meningitis yesterday.
At the memorial, the UW awarded Suri's family the diploma she would have earned at spring graduation.
Those that knew her performed songs and spoke about the friend and student they lost.
"Even though she didn't like the cold, she loved the snow," said Dean of Students Lori Berquam, "and yesterday, as you remember it snowed a soft, peaceful snow. That's indicative of how Neha would have wanted us to remember her."
"You were an inspiration to us all and someone I'll never forget," said one of Suri's former roommates.
Suri was a senior majoring in Political Science and Journalism.
